Indigo Healthy Value Newsletter
June 2009
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Welcome to the June edition of the Indigo Healthy Value Newsletter.
I need to ask a favour
I would like to hear from anyone who has bought a remedy or a nutritional supplement from us because I want to improve the service we offer to our customers and help people benefit from the work of many wonderful people who have spent many years of their lives researching and perfecting products to enable people to live healthier and happier lives.
As we do not have a practitioner/patient relationship with our customers we frequently suggest products that may be of benefit to them, based on the symptoms they tell us about and within the confines of the law, and they go away, use the product and experience an improvement in symptoms or maybe not.
In order to improve our service and make sure we are giving advice that is beneficial to our customers it would be extremely helpful if you would take a few minutes of your time to let us have some feedback on both the remedy or nutritional supplement you bought and whether you felt the advice you received from Indigo staff members was helpful. Or maybe you decided not to buy a product because you were not satisfied with the advice given, we would like to hear about this also.
Please click here to go to the form to let us know your positive and/or negative experiences.
Thank you very much for your assistance in this endeavour.

The Properties and Activities of Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe Vera tends to get labelled as a cure all, however its not but what it does do with over 300 naturally occurring ingredients is give the nutrition to the body, allowing the body to heal or strengthen itself.
The following have been observed or reported as properties or activities of Aloe Vera when taken internally as a drink or applied to the skin or hair.
1. It is a natural cleanser due to the presence of Saponins.
2. It penetrates the skin tissue internally and externally due to its Lignin content.
3. It anaesthetises the tissue in the area to which it is applied, relieving pain deep beneath the surface, including pain associated with joints and sore muscles.
4. It is bactericidal when held in high concentration for several hours in direct contact with bacteria.
5. It can reduce bleeding.
6. It is viruscidal and fungicidal when in direct contact in high concentration for a long period of time.
7. It is an anti-pyretic, reducing the heat of fever under an ulcer.
8. It is anti-inflammatory.
9. It acts like a steroid, but with no side effects.
10. It is anti-pruretic, thus stopping itching and burning.
11. It is a natural moisturiser, taking moisture to all three layers of skin. (That is seven layers of skin tissue)
12. It stimulates cell division.
13. The protealytic enzymes break down dead tissue, thus cleaning a wound etc.
14. It helps to increase blood flow in the skin by capillary dilation.
15. It is health giving to the body and the skin by providing over 300 vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes and muco-polusaccharides both essential and secondary.
16. It strengthens the immune system.
17. Safety - each of the above properties can be achieved with one or more drugs. Usually these are very expensive and will have numerous side-effects. Aloe Vera can produce these same effects in a pure concentration without any negative known side effects.
For more details on these properties and activities please read “The Silent Healer” by B.Coats R.Ph., C.C.N

Online Shopping Update
In the May edition of the Healthy Value Newsletter, I mentioned that I was creating an online shopping website. I promised updates and here is the first one.
The biggest reason why people struggle on the internet is because they don’t know how to get traffic (people) to visit their site. In starting an online shopping site for Indigo I have sought to avoid this problem, so I have spent much of the last month researching keywords that people are actually looking for at the search engines, in order that our site can rank highly enough to get traffic and make the effort worthwhile.
Could I have done this on my own? Absolutely not. I dont know the first thing about search engine optimization, as it is called. But I did find a web solution that taught me how to do it and simplify the process right down. That solution is called Site Build It!
I know that many of our customers have their own small businesses and may be interested in promoting their business on the web. My experience so far with SBI! has made the experience of starting a website not only interesting but fun as well and the ethics of SBI are consistant with our own, so I can happily recommend SBI! as a website solution.
If you are interested I strongly recommend watching the quick tour video (approx 30 mins) and reading all the information they have provided. If you pop into the shop or email me I will also happily answer any questions you may have about my experiences of using the system.
When will my site be up? I have almost completed my initial research and I am almost ready to purchase a domain name. If I am happy with the site blue print I have prepared the website should be up and running within the next month.
Best wishes and hope to see you all in the shop again soon,
George.
